Close up of Hexagon Quilt. No, it's not bias tape that holds it together. When you get all three layers sewn together you just slip stitch it together.

This might be a dump question. The pieces for the back that you cut 7 3/4 inches. Are they hexagon too?

Ok see if I am understanding this right. Each hexagon has the backing brought forward like selfbinding and then they are joined like English paper piecing (more or less). If I am correct that is really easy!! Looks complicated tho!

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful pattern.!
Can you tell me where I can get a print out of the 6" & 7 3/4" hexagons???
When you fold the back toward the front, do you fold it over so you have no raw edges?
I know what I'll be trying next!

One more question PLEASE??
When you sewed your design to hold everything together, did you do that block by block, or when it was all put together?
I'm hoping block by block. Will that work?
Thanks!!

The hexagon quilt is beautiful!!! I love it and what a beautiful way to use up scraps but how did you do the black outlining of the hexagons?

I think i've decided to do one in different florals with an ivory color that will border the hexagons.
Then I started thinking of doing one in christmas prints, halloween prints, etc., etc., etc.....
My head is starting to hurt from all this thinking.

Anyway, thanks to Janstar for so kindly sharing this with us!!
I really appreciate it!!

I love your hex quilt. What fun that must have been to do, and What a nice idea for a scrap quilt.

After looking at the close up picture, I am seeing this done in one fabric, like the Stack-n-Whack, using the 60* triangles to make up the hexagon shape. Hummm. Maybe next winters hand sewing project? And I have just the fabric. I picked up this nice flowerel print a couple years ago just because I fell in love with it. Have been pondering what to do with it ever sense!
