Crystal Star with Metallic thread
Hello just wanted to show you that embroidery thread, even metallic embroidery threads can be used to quilt. I finally finished this 2013 UFO wallhanging using BFC Creation's metallic 40wt embroidery thread to quilt it. No changes were made on the upper needle tension, used a size 18 needle, Jamie Wallen's method for the bobbin using 40wt Fufu embroidery thread similar to the gold on top and the way I went. My pattern was an E2E taking 45 minutes to sew out using robotics so it determines the speed which was the next to slowest speed for this type of pattern. I had absolutely no thread breaks which is a miracle in itself as I can never say that when using metallic in my embroidery machine. I haven't tried this thread in that machine yet though but will eventually.
Anyway, I'm glad its finally done and now need to find a place to hang it as its original place has been taken over with a panorama of nightlife in Orlando back when I lived there.
This Crystal Star pattern is one of Jinny Beyer's which is now discontinued but she did offer it this past week on a special sale. Its my 1st paper pieced ever and I now love paper pieced. My next one will be one of Jacqueline de Jonge's patterns.
Thanks for looking.
