My friend is retiring in May after teaching 7th grade for 30 years, so I made her a quilt to cuddle with on the couch while she catches up on her soap operas. I hope she will like it and enjoy it for many years! I made too many blocks and didn't want it as large as it would have been, so I used that row on the back!

Back of quilt with "extra" row not really this bright!

That's a wonderful quilt! Very nice of you to make it for her. I applaud teachers big time! (and I'm not one but my 3 boys all had them. Hope they all survived  )

I plan on retiring from teaching middle school for 35 years. Could you please put me on the list? It is a wonderful quilt.

I taught 8th grade social studies for 35 years before retiring in 2009! I recommend it to you and I'm sure one of your quilting friends will make you a quilt! You won't believe how much better you will feel health-wise after about six months. Congratulations!

Very thoughtful gift. The disappearing 9-patch looks like you did a lot of work when it is much easier than it looks. Love the color scheme, too. Nothing says love like a quilt.
