    "Dark Ice" is Finished

I was getting a bit tired of stitching all those stars. There are quite a few of them. It came out okay though. I am happy with the results. It is 60 x 60 inches and is the Boxed Squares pattern that I am so fond of. The back is pieced, and also blue. It is ready to be a Christmas present for Jim’s youngest brother Chris. Here it is in a full view, and a close up of some of the stars.

Wow, that's impressive! I love that it's such a subtle but special detail.

Great quilt and quilting! The stars look hand quilted? That would be a lot of work!

Did you quilt this by hand? It looks like it and I really like the quilting.

Oh, I knew I forgot to tell you something.....yes, it is hand quilted. It took quite a while, but it was worth the effort. I have thought of professionals many times, but can never afford it. And when I do it myself there is a lot of satisfaction.

This is a great idea,,to quilt with star designs. I am going to try it on my next quilt. I love your 'dark ice' quilt and all the different shades of blue. Thank you for sharing.

Great job and the best part is that it is only April and you have the quilt all done and ready for Christmas. I am sure it will be well received.
