This pattern is called Stepping Stones and I found it in the book "Favorite Quilts Fast & Fun" by Nancy Smith & Lynda Milligan.

The close up is closer to the true color. I backed in in turquoise that really showed off the quilting. She did not see it until after graduation and was very pleased with it.

I love that block pattern. It's so cool. Your quilt is beautiful. I love the way the black sets off the turquoise. Perfect combo. I can tell she loves it. Thanks for sharing.

Wow love your colors. They have the block for free for this pattern at http://www.mccallsquilting.com/qb/pa...9_2/index.html if anyone is interested. My youngest son picked this pattern and wants it black and the color of his car...I told him to get shopping to match the fabric to his car color lol....

Thank you all for the compliments on both the quilt and my DD! I do have to make one correction thought. I did not do the quilting on it. A good friend of mine did it for me. The only quilting I do so far is SITD. I tried FMQ, but failed miserably. She is going to let me play with her LA to see if I want one, but I wanted her to do this so it would be done right! She is an awesome friend!
