I am so glad you told us about the Jenny Doan method of doing this quilt. I went & watched the Jenny Doan video and I will make one before too much longer. I hated all the waste from the original method. I'm going to look at probably starting with a 11 inch block. By the time I lose 1/2 inch for the first seams, I will have 10.5" to divide by 4. Result would be 4 strips at 2.5" with a balance of .5". I can deal with throwing away 1/2". Thanks for sharing your quilt and for posting all the info about it.

I've always loved this pattern and have always wanted to give it a go. Husband says it reminds him of "shock waves"....LOL

I have liked this pattern since the first time I saw it on Simply Quilts, when I saw Jenny Doan make this version it stirred up the desire to make it again. Now that I have seen your quilt I have to make it since I need a new fast design for my son and daughter in law. Thanks for sharing your quilt!

I started this a couple months ago, made all the one side of the blocks and then had a "mental obstruction" for making the other side! Jenny's instructions confused me the way she laid out the two blocks on her cutting mat. I had made this years ago using Bonnie Hunter's pattern, went back to that and saw what I was doing wrong in slicing the mirror side. So now am going to get this UFO done and out of my life!
