Stunningly beautiful jacket! I have a Gammill and couldn't accomplish something like that in a million years. Great job!

Have a question on the quilting part. Did you quilt the sections before putting the pieces together as I can't imagine you quilting it once it was assembled?

Its stunning and I love the bright lining fabric you used. Blue and yellow just seems to go together.

The parts are done separately. I chalk the pattern piece on the cloth and put an outline an inch away. I quilt to the larger line. After everything is quilted, I wash the fabric before I cut out the pieces. That way there is not chance of it shrinking and not fitting when I have to wash the garment.

This is what I call "Over The Top". Just wondering if it would be possible to take some of those "gently worn" denim shirts, take them apart and practice free motion quilting BEFORE working on a project like this. I would think that the shirt would have to be a size larger than our regular size because some of the size would be taken up in the quilting.???????? --- I love the lining. Years ago I read a designer's comments about making the lining of our jackets something special that would show when the jacket was remove. Thanks so much for this post.
