    Designing a Bargello

A few of you Bargello fans have been taking steps to design your own quilts. Having made a couple of dozen bargellos, I too took the leap. I just wasn't happy with the final results but I made it for a friend and she is delighted with the quilt. The quilt didn't match what I had envision in my mind. You will see the design I made using EQ5 (picture is last), then the strips cut and the last picture is tweaking the borders. Hope this helps someone with some inspiration !!

It is absolutely gorgeous--so rich-looking. I hope to someday learn to design bargellos in EQ7.

Excellent! No worries, your bargello turned out beautifully!

I have design every bargello that I made and it's so much easier than it looks. I hope lots of quilters find out that making a bargello is a delightful project beginning to end.

The hardest thing about a bargello is being organized. Even then, correcting a mistake is easy. LOL! Yes, I am confiding that I made a mistake and fixed it. So much easier than I thought it would be!

It's gorgeous. I am still too chicken to try one.
