    How cool is that? My husband was a construction worker and would have been that I finally know what a 1/4 inch is.....He might have built me a studio - at least it's a nice thought. RIP honey....

    That's what I need to do...teach my husband how to piece...I have so many WIPs and a OBW is the next project I plan to do.

    I wish I could get my wife on the board LOL!! She has no idea how to sew and I just taught myself how to out of the blue a few years back when I restored my first treadle.

    I wish my husband would stitch with me. But he says my sewing room is a scary place. And sometimes, it is!

    You'll get used to the acronyms! I was used to the generic ones when I came here, and some of the quilt acronyms sent me for a loop for awhile!

    To answer your question, with a few of the other more common ones ...

    DH = Dear Husband (or could be Darned Hubby, if he's in the dog house that day :))
    DW = Dear Wife
    DD = Dear Daughter ... and so on for the rest of the family
    DIL = Daughter In Law

    OBW = One Block Wonder
    LQS = Local Quilt Shop
    LAQ = Long Arm Quilter
    FQ = Fat Quarters
    HST = Half Square Triangles

    So if you see an acronym ... try to think, what might fit in the context and you may just have it right.
