Thanks everyone...he really is SUCH a special man, and we love him a lot. He's got an amazing heart, it would be hard for anyone not to love him!

I really like the quilt. It is so bright and cheery! John looks very happy with his new quilt. I think you did a wonderful job on the quilt and a stupendous thing for his life. Thank you for sharing.

I've always been told a quilt serves as a hug when you can't be there to give the hug yourself. So John can wrap himself up in your hugs anytime he wants. A wonderful, caring thing to do for your friend.

It's funny you say that, the label we printed to put on it has a photo of ourselves and says, "For our friend John, with much love from William and Charlee, Fall 2011, Wrap this around you whenever you need a hug!"

We just hate that he's alone here, his mother and sibs all live in other areas of the state/country. John's only 62... I am so afraid we won't have him much longer.

What a lovely thing to do for a friend. I'm sure it warms him inside and outside. The colours are so uplifting and light.

Beautiful quilt. My husband was on dialysis and had a kidney transplant. I remember how cold he would get while on dialysis. My heart breaks for all this wonderful man is going thru. My avatar is the quilt my kids and I made while my husband was so sick. One of the blocks has a kidney appliqued on it...
