I just finished this Diamond Log Cabin Tree Skirt for a very dear relative and can't wait to give it to her tomorrow when we meet for lunch. I only stitched in the ditch on this one so it's very plain. I plan to tell her if she wants more quilting done on it - I'll be happy to take it back later the holidays and do a better job of finishing it. It was folded and boxed before I realized I hadn't taken any pictures so it's a little wrinkled.

That's the prettiest Christmas tree skirt I've ever seen. You did a great job selecting the colors. Beautiful.

The pattern is from an Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day Book entitled, "Diamond Log Cabin" table cloth or tree skirt. It's a very easy pattern that makes up fairly quickly. This one only has 3 darks and 3 lights. I've made several with only the 3 lights and 3 darks and they fit the trees wonderfully. The pattern from Ms. Burns instructs you to use 4 light and 4 dark and makes quite a large tree skirt. I made one with 4 of each color for my 12' tree and it looks great. Good luck and post a picture when you've finished.

What size is it. I have gone to a slim tree so my tree skirt is too large. I love yours. It is beautiful and beautifully done.

anicra - this is just stunning. i have to get that pattern. will be looking for the book. thank you for posting.

i started a poinsettia pattern from charlie (rounds with petals) but it was too much work for the short time i have. this would be so much easier.
