    Default Diamonds Jubilee Bargello Quilt

My son is getting married this summer and I made a quilt for the happy couple. I asked them for input as to the pattern and material, since it will be on their bed. My son remembered this pattern from a quilt I had helped assemble several years ago, and my DIL-to-be went shopping with me and chose the fabrics. I was so glad she went along because she chose from a color family I haven't worked with before and I didn't have the concept like she did. However, she chose beautifully and the finished quilt is quite pretty and looks just like Rachel, according to her mama. I was stymied a bit when I went to quilt it. I finally decided to follow the darker materials like a path and I quilted feathers wherever there was a dark spot. Some times the feathers went somewhere, sometimes they were like a medallion. In between I chose the cheater's way out and used stippling to cover the remaining ground. The border motifs were new ones for me and I especially enjoyed the larger flower motif that covered the largest border quite nicely. Thanks for looking!

You did a beautiful job, as did your DIL with the colour choices.

That is so well done. I sure hope your DIL decides to be a quilter. She has excellent color sense. Your quilting is very good. It finished out the quilt perfectly.
