I think they are trying to sweet talk me so I will save them money.LOL I know my oldest son always tells me," if you don't want to mOm, I can take it to a tailor, but you can get it done faster, but I'll take it if it is too much for you." I hear that from him every time. But, he is very nice and is sure to tell me thank you. and I get really nice presents at Xmas time, flowers for Mom's day and my birthday, and taken out to dinner once in awhile. and best of all, I get really sappy cards from him for MOm's day, plus a funny one to make me laugh. That guy is the best at picking out card@!!! And always a hug and kioss when he comes by!!

My family doesn't do this to me because I taught all 5 my daughters to sew and my son also. Made sure they all have sewing machines. Even my hubby knows how to sew, he fixes his own duds.
Only one of our daughters is a quilter, but she does beautiful work.

Yes - my DH is forever coming up with ideas of things for me to make. His latest was a "bug sheet" to use for collecting beetles and moths for the wildlife museum where he works (he goes out at nite with sheets and uses special lights to attract the bugs to the sheet). He came home with a store bought white sheet and had me fit it (with loops and channels) to a PVC frame rather than just draping a sheet over a fence or the tailgate of the truck. Apparently it was a big hit as he got many compliments from fellow "buggers" about his custom made sheet!
