This is wonderful. With my eyesite it looks like you put rickrack for the green vine. Wow does this have my brain churning. I've also been wanting to make a dresden plate for my doll, (yes my doll). I don't know if I have enough know how to pull off anything as beautiful as you have done. I just realized the corner stones, are the red and white squares made up of nine pieces. Oh my I need some rest. Lucky dolly.

For the quilting in the background could you do a grid, mimmicking the corners? I think you did a beautiful job of piecing too.

You should enter that in the small quilt category in Paducah! Very nice.

Christmas lights.........!?!? I have seen it on other 30`s quilts and thought that they are supposed to be leaves

And if rickrack is the same as zackenlitze then this it is what I used. It is woven that way as I could not imagine to make so small vines out of fabric myself (I know a lot of you can)

the plates have a diameter of 2 3/4". I tried littler but smaller than 2.5 " it is very hard to keep the pedals accurat and as I turned from mini to doll quilt it is fine like this.
