I think it looks pretty both ways. The sashing makes it look more elegant. Without the sashing it looks more playful.

Me and my big 2 cents worth... Would it be possible to audition a hot pink for the sashing? I think the dark brown is too, well, dark...

I vote for no sashing! It does bring out the color of her hair, but honestly that's all your eye sees. without sashing you see all of her and your eye travels better.
