Pretty quilt...... I'd make the border whatever size it needs to make it the size quilt you want.... is it for a full sized bed, queen? You can do flowers and vines in so many ways..... look at some already done to make your decision. And, I think blanket stitch would fit in the 30's era. Good luck. We want to see it when it's all done.

I love Dresden Plate quilts and yours is a beauty. Love the flowers too. And love your fabrics - many of them are in my stash! I have a take-along project using papers from Paper Pieces.com and 30's repro fabric and eventually will turn all those pieces into a quilt. Yours is so sunny; the yellow sashing is just the right touch.

I love everything about your quilt. I thank you for your idea on creating the flowers for the border. I would love to see your finished quilt and know it will be admired by all in your quilt show.

Since don't know the width of flowers, etc., hard to guess for me. Very, very pretty.
ditto.be sure to show us the finished product

I love your quilt!! It's gorgeous in every way. Your border plan sounds just perfect for it, too. To enhance durability, you might sew the flowers down all around their edge with invisible thread and then use a heavier weight black thread to do a quick hand blanket stitch around them. It would give it a 30's "look" but you wouldn't be just depending on the hand stitching to hold things together.

Please show us the finished quilt. And later show us the ribbon you will undoubtedly win with it!
