Default Drunkard's Path - Riding the Wave

Here's one I finished the binding on yesterday. Yes it really is a drunkard's path block.

This is a quilt my cousin requested (one of two from the same fabrics), she had most of the batiks (I added almost all the blues). She wanted something 'wavy' to remind her of the Bahamas and picked this pattern.
I used the AccuQuilt 7" die. After making each block, they are trimmed down. Layout is crucial.
You may remember the turquoise and terra cotta 'flower' wall hanging I posted a few weeks back. That was my test run.
This quilt has a total of 90 blocks, 9 wide, 10 long. Finished size is 56 X 62.

My vision was to go from the dark ocean bottom (Bottom left of the quilt) gradually up to the sunlight (top right) through the waves of the ocean.
I used the Wave Quilt Pattern by The by Carolina Cotton Co. The quilting is ocean waves.

    Thanks for looking!

Well, your vision definitely came to be seen on this beauty. It is so lovely. You and she certainly found the right fabrics for the depth of the ocean to the surface. I feel and see the Bahamas.Makes me hear the sounds of the waves, and the smell of the ocean. She is one lucky cousin.hmm...didn't you know we are long lost cousins and I am requesting one like this in celebration of finding each other??? Thank you for sharing this and also for including the pattern info.
