embroidered puppy quilt for the grandaughter...

I embroidered this, then used crayons to color in the puppies. I am quilting around each puppy then will quilt the border, haven't decieded what pattern tho. The back is a baby blue with puppies and paw prints flannel. She has seen it and loves it, she has already named all the puppies!

How cute is this? To already have the puppies named is a major task! Way to go...an already loved quilt!!

They're adorable! I'd be interested in where you found this darling embroidery pattern. It's just too cute! Are you going to quilt any paw prints on your quilt? I love this!

I got this pre-printed quilt top at a local fabric store. I have thought about putting some Etsy because they are so cute and there are so many different prints. I am doing a kitty one for the other grandaughter right now too. It is time consuming, this is my first embroider, I have cross stitched all my life so it was fairly easy for me. I do have appr. 45 hrs in this one so far!

Oh, my goodness, your quilt is so, so adorable and the fact she has named all the puppies says she love it. What a wonderful gift for your granddaughter. This little quilt is going to become a heirloom for sure...at least I hope it does. It is just wonderful.

Trust me not dumb! I had never heard of it either. All the puppies are white, so I colored them with crayons then heat set them to get the wax out and the color stays. The lady that owns the fabric store told me about and I was a little skeptical, but they turned out awesome. So all the color other than the embroidery is colored with crayons!

When you do the crayon, after your done put a plain white sheet of paper over the colored image, and a papertowel behind it and put your iron on cotton- med hi, and iron over the paper. You will see an imprint of the image on the paper...Thanks everyone for you comments! I worked a lot of hours on this and am finishing tonight!!
