I totally don't know what you did here but I love the way it turned out. I am going to have to google how to do a facing.

That would be a good finish for a Double Wedding Ring or Grandmother's Garden quilt.

Seriously, I can't fathom how you worked those curves. Did you have to stretch the inner curves and kind of gather the outer curves, or what? How far apart are the curve points?

It is done by making a facing/ frame out of straight of grain fabric. Tutorial is up on QB tutorial section under the title Facing a quilted piece.
