I say sew blocks together & add soft pink borders - hope it's a girl! Posting a picture when complete?

I like the cream colored sashing idea - it won't compete for attention from the beautiful blocks.

I like it just the way it is, but if I was going to use sashing I would use pink.

I like the cream sashing idea best, I love the blocks themselves but I feel it would give it that extra pop

I think the blocks look fine. But if you want it bigger or brighter, a border can make a BIG difference. Rememeber that the mother will be shocked to get something hand crafted and the baby will love it regardless.

Sharon Craig says use whatever color you want to be predominate. If you like pink quilts, use pink, green quilts use green, etc. lay they out on a few different fabrics and see the difference it makes. But I would use a not too busy fabric, like tone on tone.

I also think they look pretty together without sashing, but if you want to add sashing that would be fine too. Good luck to your DH with his knee surgery.
