Yes she's hanging in there, they upped the morphine and said it'll be about a week. She's ready, we're ready.

So sorry to hear about your friend. She will for sure appreciate the beautiful quilt, the thought and the time that went into it and your friend's family will also treasure it for a long time.
On Sunday I will be going to the visitation of the sister of a friend of mine, who is only 40 years old. She died of breast cancer. She left behind a 5 year old daughter. So sad.
I am planning to make a quillow for the little girl when I find out what her favorite color is.
Have a good weekend, everyone. And cherish what we have today, for tomorrow, who know...

She stayed with us a little longer than we thought. Here's her obituary that was in the paper today. She wrote this herself when she found out she was terminal. Also planned her own funeral every last detail.

Eldia Mae Owensby, 66, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was a resident of Indianapolis.

Eldia was born in Liberty, Ky., to Hubert and Marie Summers. She was employed as a cafeteria manager for Greenwood schools.

She married Paul Owensby in 1963. They formed the gospel group The Owensby Family with their two sons, performing throughout the United States for many years.

Eldia worshiped at First Separate Baptist Church in Indianapolis.

Eldia is survived by her loving husband, Paul; two sons, the Rev. Rick (Shannon) Owensby and Brian (Tammy) Owensby; three brothers, Travis (Lou), Dayton (Charmain) and Junior Summers; three sisters, Letia (Jack) Mason, Betty (Paul) Haney and Brenda Gater; and two precious grandsons, Zach and Garrett.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Separate Baptist Church, 25 E. Bixler St., Indianapolis. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Little and Sons Funeral Home Stop 11 Chapel, 4901 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis, and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

This is a beautiful quilt. My Mother found this online while trying to find a pattern that she wants me to make for her. This is the one she loved. She said "it is a feathered dresden and it has a lot of green in it, you'll know when you see it". So here I am and reading about your friend. That she mattered as much to you to make something to help comfort her during this time is priceless. She will love receiving it and you will love giving it. Her family will cherish it through the love of your friendship :) God Bless you both.
