    Featherweight my new baby

Just picked her up today. Have only seen one being used (a few years ago) and fell in love with it. I was shocked when I went to see her at how small they are and how hard they are to find. She's a beauty and feet to go with her. The bottom of her box is not stable (worn) so won't use handles but handles and both clips to close are in great shape. Name: image.jpg

Congratulations! They are fun to use. I like using mine and I don't transport it in the original box because it is 65+ years old and made with thin wood and paper. Mine travels is a rolling cart from Joann's - I need all the other items in the cart anyway.

    Have fun!

Congrats! I love mine and use her often. She makes the most beautiful stitches, is quiet and I can move her to any room with ease.

Such sweet little machines, I love mine. Yours looks to be in pristine condition. The decals are great.

Congratulations. She's a pretty machine. I love the handle on that tracing wheel. You can buy a new box for her that looks just like the original.

Congratulations, VivianW. Welcome to the FW Club. They are such wonderful machines and make the most soothing sound when they stitch. That click-click-click just makes me smile.

I clean and oil my FWs myself and they respond with those soothing sounds and beautiful stitches that we all expect. Enjoy her.

Wow..all that love! I think I'll "dig out" the one I foolishly thought I had to have.....maybe a spark will ignite? Naw, on second thought, better things to do..........strange, because I really do like old antique things, but not FW.....

LUCKY YOU! Wait til you read the manual. It is nothing like the current English I grew up with.

She's a beauty. You're going to love her. Have you named her yet? Lilly is my go to girl. She comes along to all my retreats, etc. and I use her at home quite a lot as well.

So glad you joined us! My featherweight is the machine I use almost exclusively, both at home and when traveling. So easy to care for and transport and sews so nicely.

I belong to a sewing guild with 28 members. On any one sewing day there will be at least 6 of these in use. All the ladies have bigger, newer machines with lots of bells and whistles but they choose to use their FW. I have one but rarely use it. It makes wonderful stitches and sews like a dream. I love my FW.

I took my 301A to get the tension assembly replaced yesterday. This was my very first quilt making machine and I decided it was time to get it ready for use again.

The light on my FW doesn't work so I have never used it. It is time to get it fixed!

I recently purchased one at an estate sale. I'm very proud of her (name Baby). Had trouble threading the machine until I found out you thread the needle for the inside, not the outside. Enjoy yours.

I have one too that looks about like yours....mine was made in 1938, my birth year.....just a coincidence as I inherited it from someone who knew nothing about sewing......Mine also had all the things you are showing as accessories and the case is even useable......I was thrilled and speechless when I got it! You will come to love this little jewel. It is so portable and has the nicest hum......you are going to LOVE it!!! CONGRATULATIONS!
