I realize I am going totally against all the comments so far, but I think all the hearts added make it cutesy instead of striking, taking away from the center. I'd like to see more border interest instead of plain white, but more in the same vein as the yin-yang center hearts. Perhaps prairie points facing inward, or scallops, or even half hearts repeating. Just my opinion as a lover of hearts, but not of sweet and cutesy.

I ironed "wonder under" type adhesive on the back of a piece of red fabric. Then I ironed freezer paper on the front of the fabric. I drew the heart shapes and then using a very sharp Havel Seam ripper, I cut out the heart shapes. You have to have a cutting board under your fabric. Then you iron your red center onto the background (white fabric)
cut same size as your red piece. I made triangles in white to hold the red cutout. I had to cut out additional red heart shapes for the sides because when you turn the first ones you cut out over, the adhesive is on the wrong side.
Hope this makes sense!
