Fiddlehead Plaid Quilt, a wedding gift.
My son's best friends from college are all about to get married or have just gotten married, right through the end of this year. These guys are special to us! I have just finished this quilt as a wedding gift for the second couple... with four more to make! Each will be different...
For this quilt I started with pretty batik strips in all cool colors, and white. I used the "Woven" pattern on the Moda Bakeshop site, but as usual went off on my own path with it. I only used four color strips in each block, rather than six, so it wouldn't be so 'busy' would look more 'plaid' than 'woven'. I freehanded some fiddleheads in the open white squares. It turned out quite large-- full size, 64" x 78". I laid out seven rows of 6 blocks, or 42 blocks total. The blocks came out about 11" square.
