Talking Finally finished my sister's quilt to match her pillows

My sister gave me a couple of yards of a butterfly fabric that she liked and wanted pillows. So I made her pillows, placemants, valance and tablerunner because I just couldn't help myself from playing around with different patterns and adding a ton of other fabrics from the stash. I decided to make her a lap quilt as a last hurrah , but there is just a smidgeon of butterfly fabric in it. There were so many different colors on the top that I used invisible thread , but I really don't like it on the borders. I don't think I would use the plastic thread again . It was a great way to use up the mountain of stuff in the 2nd bedroom and I like the way Black makes everything else pop!!! I bet I ended up buying way more to add to the mix. Why can't I just use what I have????? It seems there is always another great fabric to throw into the mix !!!! Now on to some new projects- maybe something minimalist modern with solids~~~

Very pretty and lots of imagination to make so many projects using your stash. It is always fun to add new fabrics!

It is indeed a disappearing 4 patch sashed in black. The inspiration butterfly fabric had a lot of pastel blue with brights thrown in, so I used the black sashing to really make everything else pop plus I think it pulled all the squares together. I like playing with the patterns and colors and seeing what comes out - Don't we all!?!?!?!?
