This board can be kind of intimidating. I am sure that a few of the quilters here do not ever sleep they post so many beautfiul "finished" quilts!

Finally, I have finished a couple of lap quilts. The first one has manly colors and features the spool block. It was for a very sweet old friend.

The second one is for a dear friend of ours in the UK. The fabric is called Margaret's Fairies. If you look closely, you'll see a little fairy in the flower buds. I just shipped it off today and would love to be there when she opens it!!!

Now, to the pictures----let's hope the photo fairy is helpful to me....
(the pictures got out of order but you guys can figure it out......)

They are terrific. Your labels are also fantastic. How did you do them? Did you send them through the printer? What method did you use? I'm very curious as that's the exact look I'd like to do for my labels!

I ironed freezer paper to fabric and sent it through the printer. (freezer paper up) Then, I hand embroidered the letters. Also, I "made" the letters pink for the pink one and brown for the brown one. The print from the computer will wash out. I love hand embroidery so it was fun for me.

I liked being able to vary the font style and size plus having uniform letters as opposed to a hand written label.

Well, I'm a terrible "hand-sewer" so I don't think I could make it nearly as beautiful and perfect looking as yours. I noticed after I posted that it looked like thread. I wish I could do things like that - you talented folks make hard things look easy!!

    I cannot tell a lie.

The LAQ did the quilting. The guy who did the first one has a computer operated long arm and his designs are very intricate. The second (the fairy one) was done by a lady who doesn't use panographs but free hands her designs.

Maybe, some day I'll figure out that, too

They are both just beautiful  Thank you for braving up and sharing your pictures.
I too am slow at getting my quilts done  but I don't look at this board as intimidating but rather as inspiring. Keep up the great work and don't be afraid of posting pictures of your WIP you don't have to wait until you are finished.
