There is definitely nothing boring about it now. It turned out quite lovely.

Gosh, if you're bored with that, I'd be thrilled to take it off your hands. I especially love those red stars and the striped binding.

It sure doesn't look boring to me. Very nice quilt and using scraps is amazing!

I didn't really have one for the main part,--I guess I just made 16 patches out of the 2.5" blocks and then added the edging til it made that interesting block.

However for the star sashing, I used this page.

I was just using up my squares. I did spend some time on the internet looking for ideas, and I copied some pictures. I took this one off of a website that had this block (the main block) but then I wanted to make it more interesting, so I added the "Morning star sashing" block found here.

http://www.quilterscache.com/M/MorningStarQuilt.html

For the main block, I made 16 patches, then added the edging because I thought the block was a bit boring and I had already made a bunch of 16 patch blocks and wanted something different.

(I was using my whole bag of blocks. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t204963.html)

In that post, quilt tops nr. 2, 3 and 8 used 16 patches. After doing nr. 2 and 3, I wanted something different, so I made nr. 8.--I took the 16 patch block, looked at it, decided to add the half square triangles to the sides and off white squares to make the red boxes around the 16 patches. Them, I wanted more pizzazz, so I added the star sashing. And yes, I am pleased with how it turned out.

That is lovely. The colours just leap off the quilt. Real eye candy.
