I like the brown sashing for a boy and the "white" for a girl. To me, the sashing makes the block "POP"

I am partial to the brown for sashing but the blue is a second. It does make it a "boy" quilt then though. All of them are wonderful options. The wild side of me loves the orange fabric.
5 x5 is not so good as the blocks are longer than wide. What I am not sure about is how to mix the colors. Always girl/boy/girlbear, but what about the colors of the blocks?

thank you all so much for the feedback. I would have gone without sashing but I think you are right and I also tend to the dark brown one. Its the same "wood" print as the bedframes and could go for the floor.........and then the blue with the stars for the night sky!?

    That is Adorable !!! :)

This might not help, Like the checkerboard layout, if boardered, Brown or Light, could get wild and do a Brown/Yellow weave (brown aginst yellow, Yellow aginst brown, cornres 4 patch reverse, Gezzz i hope that made since. no matter what it's Great !! :)

Good morning and thank you all sooooo much. I will have to work today and tomorrow, but I hope to be able to try some things out tonight. Attic window sounds also very good!

I`d be lost without this board..................but on the other hand, without it I would never have gotten into this in the first place

That is a darling quilt! I like the brown sashing best. It makes the colors pop out at least in my eye it does.

I like Alienquilters idea of an attic window so much that I came up with these finalists. One time with girls, one time with boys.

    What do you think?
the horizontal fabric of the two brown versions could also be switched

none of the fabrics are red

the vertical at the left is clearly brown and the one with darker flowers is getting into orange with brown dots in the center of the flowers. Whitch one do you mean?
