Melanie, I love your quilt. I do agree that your eye is immediately drawn to the dark block. Someday, I hope to get that ambitious Very nice work and I like your colors too. Now that I can see the piano key border, I really like it.

Hi Melanie,

Great decision to change the dark block - it looks great now! And i wasn't sure about the piano key idea, was going to suggest a plain border, then I saw your photo and changed my mind - it looks wonderful! :D

Perfect like the change that really worked out, and the border is perfect for it too.

But I love the changes you made.
Love the border

K, here's an update.
I have everything put together except the last border, which will likely be around 5", in that light tan colour, and the caramel coloured leaf print that's in some of the blocks is going to be my corner block fabric. Here a few pics laid out on the bed, and flat on the floor in my living room.

the last few pics...

I've never done a BOM before, I was skeptical at first, I didn't really like how mine was turning out, but now I'm glad I kept going to finish it!

Melanie, you were right on with your changes and with the piano key border! I'm so glad you decided to change out the dark block too. You go girl!

Melanie - I just love your soon-to-be duvet cover.
I was reading the post from the beginning and thought the piano keys might take away from your blocks, but with the dark border tying it all together, the keys add a more modern feel to it.
Great job!
