HA! Beautiful quilt. My mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (yes, I'm fortunate to have her been the one to teach me to quilt and I still have the first thimble she gave me when I was 7 years old), when a quilt was finished, they used the expression "it's time to toss the cat". My mother explained that when they used to set up the quilting horses in the kitchen and all the women would come and make a quilt in a day, when they would finish, they would "toss the cat" onto the quilt and let it run around on the quilt so that the static electricity in the cat's fur would pick up all the little bits of thread. I don't know if it worked, but when someone said "it's time to toss the cat", it was a signal that the quilt was finished.

That is quite a feat - I haven't used my regular machine for quilting for a while - on something that big I would probably be lost - you did a wonderful job and a beautiful quilt for you...Yay..

Hmm, the middle of the top of mine is pieced and tomorrow I will cut out the rest. Soon the top will fit a queen with sides to the floor, so large as a king.
Hints on how to quilt on the Janome 6600. I do believe in my sweet machine. It is me I am concerned about. Ha! You are a wonderful role model and I just wonder how you got so much under the harp. Did you roll tight, squash it, have a friend pull & tug for you.
I have a torn pec muscle and 2 tears on the rotator cuff & two jagged bones the tissue catches on. But I want to complete this ASAP for a dear friend. Suggestions???
