    Wow, this is a lot like one my Aunt did around 1935-all in purple and white. Hand pieced and unfinished until she gave it to me in 2008 or so. I added borders and hand quilted it, then later found what I think might be the name of the pattern: Hummingbird. If you squint you can see the birds in flight. Great job and Grandma would be pleased!

    Very nice quilt and you did a wonderful hand quilting job. What a treasure to have in your possession. Your grandmother would be proud.

    I wonder just how many people still had quilt compared to machine quilting. I love and do both. I have to say without a doubt that the quilts that I have hand quilted are the most beautiful of all, and the most treasured. The majority of my utility quilts and some bed quilts are machine quilted while any show quilts I tend to hand quilt.
