Beautiful quilt I so admire you who do such beautiful hand work. My DM made a lot of appliqued quilts by hand all so pretty.

I am really getting into turned under applique (not raw edge fused) and like to explore all my options.
the 12" blocks around the center are applique blocks from the 'backyard gathering' wool quilt I made (pattern called= backyard gathering from Lisa Bongean (primitive gatherings) the borders, centers, ect are 'loosely' based on other appliques I saw in magazines- I just fused fabric, drew vines, flowers, leaves as I needed them. so- to answer your other questions- the appliques are fused, raw edge- stitched down with small blanket stitch- silk threads.

That is beautiful applique work! I love the colors, so colonial. And the sawtooth border too!
