Thank you so much for posting your picture. I have such a difficult time visualizing a different color way, especially when the sample was done in "Kansas Troubles type" colors and was gorgeous! I am considering using more pastel colors on mine (it isn't started yet), you've given me the confidence to do so. Thank you!!

Pastels will be lovely too. I really love the way different color ways make them look so different. I had downloaded, and saved the patterns for this but really didnít think I would ever get around to making it- then a couple friends asked me if I had ever made an Irish Chain quilt. Had to admit I had not. I revisited the pattern and decided I might make a dent in the scrap tote if I made it with scraps. I truly enjoyed the process for this one.

I too loved this pattern and making the quilt. Mine is a flimsy still as I haven't chosen it's new owner.

I believe UFOs are like scraps, ferns and dust bunnies. Once you get two, they send spores out into the air and more just happen anywhere the spores meet.

I love your quilt! My mother always said we were Irish in heritage. I'd love to make this pattern for myself and in memory of mom.

Thanks everyone. I just found out that our ( reunion committee) is planning a 45th reunion for us next year. I think I will donate it to the class raffle- one of my classmates from 45 years ago will win it. ( hopefully one that sort of liked me. )

It sure finished beautifully! There's going to be one very happy (and lucky!) classmate at your reunion. I really like your fabric choices and star layout!
