I had been working on a firefighter quilt for my best friend's 40th birthday (which is the day after Christmas) and I finally saw him yesterday and was able to give it to him. He almost cried when he opened it and he said he loves it and how do I top that was what he asked lol
Here are some pictures of it and him with it.

I don't see "him" but what I see of your quilt and quilting I absolutely love. No wonder he was amazed. Your quilting is just phenominal (sp? lol). Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I wish I could take credit for the quilting as it is absolutely phenomenal but it was done by a member of the board here. I pieced the top and did the binding-the actual quilting and the label were done by others (maybe someday I will be able to do both!)
Thank you for your kind words.

His pic just now came thru and he looks astonished, as well he should. I too usually have others quilt my quilts...and even do my binding. I am just not patient enough for hand work. I am always anxious to get to the next project. lol
Hugs to you from a fellow quilter,
    Diane

Love your quilt. It's OK that someone else did the quilting and the label. The idea was yours and you put a lot of thought and love into the quilt. Happy that he recognized all your work and that he appreciates it.

BTW, I am sending you a PM as I would like to get in touch with the quilter. I only piece my tops and others quilt them so would like to know the name of a good one. I do put on binding, although I hate, hate, hate the hand sewing part of it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for such kind words :-) It was a true labor of love and I really wanted the quilting and the label to speak to the top. I was thrilled that he liked it so much. He has been a volunteer for over 20 years.
PWinston I will answer your PM :-)

    Thank you very much!
His wife told him he should hang it on the wall and never use it! Luckily he did not listen to her and he uses it EVERY day-that warms my heart. I love to see people use their quilts and love them ;-)
