I have and it's time consuming, but relaxing at the same time (is that even possible??)

I think it's great. What a wonderful job of needle turn applique.

No, no just add sashing and straighten that up. I hate to take anything out. I love the block.

Yes, it might get caught in the seamlines. I really like folk art though and you are doing a good job. You will will proud when you finish, for sure.
Suggestion: Applique can take up some of your material and make the block smaller. It is best to cut your background fabric a little bigger than it calls for, just to be safe. Love needleturn applique.
I can't wait to see the whole quilt. A good take with project to Dr.s, and in front of the tv.

Tisha, this is beautiful. I love folksy patterns and will have to look for this book. I'm needle turning my IRR center and really understand how time consuming this is, but I'm totally hooked also. I underestimated how long it would take. You'll see it when it gets to you next spring. :-) Keep plugging along - can't wait to see the other blocks!
