Your background batik is gorgeous and what a totally different look that will give your DG making it a dark background. Please keep posting your progress.

Where did you get templates? I have the book but fear trying to make my own because of accuratly adding the 1/4 inch to each tiny piece.

I ordered the templates along with the book. For this first block, at least, a template wasn't really necessary. Measuring and sewing an accurate seam are important, however.
