You've included so many different tactile examples...Will be a comfort for some one...I would like to check this out locally...I am saving bits of minky just for this as it has such a soft feel..keep us posted as you make more. Here's a link for anyone else...

The size can be anything, Oksewglad has posted a good link for information. I recommend, just checking with the facility you are going to donate them to, as to what is best for their current residents.

No they are easy, kind of like a giant crumb block or a small crazy quilt. Just grab different fabrics and sew them together. You can either sew and sandwich or quilt as you go. I did the stitch and flip on most of this, then did a little extra quilting to make sure things were anchored well.

Thank you Oksewglad for the link, I had not seen this one. I have yet to buy minky so may see if I can find some in the ends and pieces bin and maybe try it I think it would be great near the edges.

Dedemac...check with quilt friends for left overs...or maybe your local LA quilter...they may have bits left over..tell them what you want it for and they may just give it to you. My quilt friends are often giving me fabric bits for my minis and a scrap of minky will be among them.
