    :) Actually, I purchased yardage (half yard of the three fabrics in the center) and cut it into 4 inch (i think squares). I happened to have the dark brown fabric on hand, and just cut enough for the border. I had to go back and but the backing. :) I would think 5 inch squares would work also tho? I didnt have a pattern... I just stuck them up on my design board and fiddled with it until I liked it. :) You are more than welcome to copy the layout from my picture.

    looks good to me, this is what I do with my long arm it doesn't have a computer and I'm glad something else to break
