Just want to share my latest accomplishment. I promised myself I'd make a Mariners Compass one day and here it is. I must admit I'm kind of proud of it. Hope you like it and feel challenged to make one. Paper piecing is not and never will be my favorite way of quilting, but it sure did help with this block.

This is absolutely gorgeous and I hope to make one someday. I do not paper piece so this may be a challenge (smile). You did a great job. Thank you for sharing.

It's really beautiful. Your points are perfect.

Quite impressive and ambitious for a first pp attempt. ;-)

What method did you use to place it on the background - quarters, applique, inside-out?

PP is perfect for a Mariner's Compass design because when you're done, it lays flat. This would not be as much of a challenge as you think. You put it together in four quarters, which are exactly the same. This would be a great project to learn PP on and you'd end up with a wonderful project!

Lovely - I love mariner compasses. I have a couple that are still work in progresses, but they are great to do, and maybe one day I will do something with them. :)
