Your GD & her quilt are so precious. You can tell she is proud of her first quilt, as she should be. She did an awesome job. I bet she is bursting at the seams trying to keep it a secret from her sister until June! lol So adorable!

That is a great little quilt. You are a wonderful grandmother for taking the time to teach her something she could enjoy for the rest of her life.

My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 4, and embroidery by the time I was six. We hold our kids back too much these days. Yes, I did stick myself with the needle and I bled, but it never hurt me permanently. My mom taught me to sew on a sewing machine by the time I was 8 and I was making all my own clothes by 9. That included reading the pattern and doing all the cutting. So that means, I have sewing a very, very, very long time....one day I might get good at it. "smile"
