Stsrted this quilt four years ago for my ds and dil. They divorced so I decided to finish it for my self.

Moose I love those colors! You might try a rainbow colored thread for the top and whichever color matches the back for bobbin.

I really like the batik blocks you've used. The pillow top looks just lovely.

As for the purple log cabin - Wow what more can I say.

lovetoquilt...that is a lovely log cabin...I love the purple..glad you finished it up for yourself.

No big deal. I also just realized that my/this thread was moved from Main to Pictures... oops. No matter how hard I try to post in the right place, it never seems to work out.

Don't be afraid of free motion. Make up some samples with a top,batting and backing. Use some leftovers. Then practice, practice, practice. The nice part is if you make a mistake, you are usually the only one who knows.
