I started my Double Irish Chain quilt yesterday and got most of the blocks done today. Just need to put it together and add the partial blocks for the outside. 4 of us got enough done to at least put up some of the blocks for pictures. We had so much fun doing this - probably would have gotten more done if I'd been at home, but what fun is that when you can chat and snack while sewing with others. Mine is the burgundy, red & white flowers and white.

Oh, Darlin' that is beautiful. I ordered an Eleanor Burns book on Irish Chain. Your points look great and it sounds like you had loads of fun!

I was showing my husband your Irish Chain pics, when he stopped me and asked about your Bargello avatar. He said it was phenomenal. I wanted to sock him in the eye because he's never said anything close to that about what I've worked on. I showed him what Bargello patterns I've ordered and explained how I didn't understand the instructions and he just walked away.....I guess he just doesn't "get" it when it comes to quilting expertise. Sometimes I want to kick him in the shins.

Your quilt is going to be wonderful--I love your fabric selection. Please show us another pic when you finish it----I just love Irish Chain!!

I love getting together with friends to quilt--thanks for sharing pics of their blocks too. It is always fun to see everyone else's twist on a block.

Wow girls isn't it amazing how the different colors make the quilt have such a change in the whole look and visual image of the quilt. I love that. It looks like you gilrs had fun playing together for the day.

I love yours very much. It is so sweet and feminine.

wow.. here i was looking for a quilting forum to join... and imagine my DELIGHT when i found a pic of my quilt (in progress) posted on one!! :)

mine is the black/orange/gold one you can't really see, but the black fabric has butterflies on it, the gold is leaves, it's supposed to be asian themed. it's going to be a great christmas present for a friend of mine!! :)

Here is the finished top. I added 2 more rows of blocks to make it longer and ran out of the dark burgundy color. Found another material for the outer border and binding. Now have to decide how I'm going to quilt it. :)
