Remeber to put a label on the back with a brief description of its making, for the long term recipient to read. I make my labels of the computer and print them on fabric then stitch them to a back corner. In small font and using colour the label will not detract from the fabric. Remember to put washing instructions in the the label as well.
I love sampler quilts. So many varieties of blocks and so many colours and patterns available you couild almost spend a lifetime and not make the same quilt twice.
Thanks for the reminder about the label. I will place one before I gift it....

I take a closeup tomorrow. I am learning to read the blocks and fit the quilting to the space. I really enjoy handquilting.

I agree - I would use the red that matches the border.

I agree with your choice for the binding. I have a question- did you strip piece the Spools block or did you have to set that block in??
I adore the old patterns and love hand-work also. But I don't know too many people who love doing the binding LOL :D
