I'm hoping to get all 3 caps done this weekend...but I'm running out of time!

Here is the first cap (hot pink) for my friend dealing with cancer. Here are the pics of the yoyos that go with the hat....they came from my new stash.

I know that the pics are of the back of the yoyos....but I really like the backs better for this one. If I have time, which I doubt, I'll put some on the right way and glue sparkles to the center....but I think she'll be happy the way they are.

A little background....the godfather we chose for our younger 3 children has known my husband forever...he's like dh's adopted uncle. Him and Jane have been married for over 45 years. When they were newlyweds, Jane was visciously mugged and left for dead. She survived the attack, but was permanently brain damaged. Her wonderful husband took care of her and still does every day. She is very child like...she can take care of herself, and reheat the meals that Chuck cooks for her when he is working. They could never have children, so they have birds instead. Jane found a lump about a year ago and never told anyone. By the time it was found, there were more than one. Her cancer is also in her lymph nodes...she's very scared but more because she's having surgery. Cancer is in a foreign language she just doesn't understand.

She LOVES costume jewelry. She has sparkly barettes for her hair, her wrists always have at least 6 brightly colored baubled bracelets and of course...all of her fingers. She's just learned that she'll have to not have jewelry when she undergoes her treatments. SO.....I'm making VERY WILD hats in these bright colors I know she'll like. I also picked the craziest colors I had to make yoyos to decorate her hats.

When I get the other two sets for the other hats done, I'll post more pics, but this is what I have so far.

Melissa, that is so sweet of you. And yes, do show us pictures of the cancer caps when you're done.

I had found a free pattern....but I've never sewn anything but quilts before. These particular caps were storebought, but they followed the same pattern found here:

Thanks everybody. Hope to finish the first cap tonight.

I would like to know how to make the hats. It may be something Ladies at my church could do for the annual fair in OCT.
Is there a website available?

Marla...forgot when I posted the hyper link that I had bookmarked the pattern as well.

Here it is:

It's a free pattern from Sewing with Nancy's website.
