Simply Quilts has been off the air for a while, but I recorded the segment this flag quilt was on, and made it up with lots of scraps that I picked up at a yard sale. I finished it off with freemotion quilting, somthing I'm always practicing on each new quilt. Wanted to share it now with the summer holiday's coming up.

Beautiful. I remember that episode of Simply Quilts. You did a great job. My Mother was born on Flag Day, June 14 and will be 101. So I pay attention to flag quilts

Very nice--I am still angry about the decision to take that show off the air!! All I can find in my hundreds of cable channels is Fons and Porter and Nancy Zieman!! I used to find so many more--Eleanor Burns, Kay Woods and many others!! I thinks they need a whole channel devoted to quilting and sewing shows!! I'd sign up!!

It's wonderful. If you hadn't told us I would have thought you bought a coordinated quilt kit.

My Son was in the service also, so the good old flag and the USA are very dear to our heart - can't go to a parade and watch the flags go by without tearing up.
I sort of mocked this up in EQ5, so don't really have written instructions, but can tell you the squares are 1 3/4" finished in size, and I am including detail pics the EQ5 program that may help. Hope this will get you on your way - I had the most trouble with the little friendship stars, but eventually got it worked out, you may want to try a different way to do them. Haf Fun!

    :) :) Thanks
