Default Flimsy from leftover blocks ~AKA~ Finishing another UFO/WIP...

Years (!!!) ago, I made Kid Two a quilt. Raiding the stash, I made 3-inch 9-patches and cut alternating squares. I sew and cut. And sewed and cut some more.

When I finally stopped sewing and cutting, and started counting and laying them out, I had almost 100 extra blocks: 50 9-patches, 47 alternating squares. I cut some more alternating squares out of fabric that works with the other fabrics. Placed everything in a zippy bag, and added it to the stack of UFOs/WIPs.

We moved recently, giving me the opportunity to really see the number of UFOs hidden in the deep, dark corners of my quilting world. So I've been finishing them. This is the next one I brought into the light.

Over the last few early mornings, I've sewn the quilt top together. It finishes at 30"x30". I'll be sending it onto the local Clothing Bank when finished. It'll be better for a newborn at this size (I usually make baby quilts much larger... more like toddler quilts).

Great use of scraps and then reduce to stack of UFOs. I like this pattern very much.

I recognize one of my favorite fabrics in there....pink background with tiny flowers and butterflies.
