I found purple flowers, green stems and a tad of white and yellow in several different prints to use. Then for the other side, I'm collecting greenery on black backgrounds. I think it will be really pretty. Going to try a block to see how it looks soon. I absolutely fell in love with Karla's!
Can't wait to see this, Karen! Sounds interesting and I love the way black makes other colors pop.
Being skinny isn't easy, so I gave up and opted for being sexy instead. (aunty acid)

Actually, they're not a lot of work and go together quickly!

It's absolutely gorgeous. You get more accomplished when laid up then I do when I'm feeling 100%.

I'm actually looking forward to doing one of these in pastel, maybe yellows, reds & oranges, maybe peaches and blues, maybe??? Yeah, ummm...I think I"m hooked! AND already have lots of extra pieces already cut, leftover ends from the strips, so can see a LOT more lob cabins in my quilting future.

Anyway, here's where I'm at as of today!

No new rulers, just a 6" X 24" and I put a strip of blue painters tape at the 1 1/2" mark the full length of the ruler so I can just sort of drop it into place to make my cuts. It goes much quicker and easier that way!
Helen, you should at least check out the ruler. You can use strips of any width it it has lines on it to show you where to cut, or you can use scraps of any size and it will show you where to cut. I don't remember where I bought mine but I love it. It's called the Log Cabin Trim Tool Two by Omni Grid.
