Absolutely a winner! It is beautiful and on my "to do" lists. (Note the plural!)

I cut strips wof, then strip sew the blocks, one after the other onto the strip. I used Eleanor Burns' technique and it sure makes the blocks go quickly!

Thanks Karen. The more I do the more I love this quilt!

No new rulers, just a 6" X 24" and I put a strip of blue painters tape at the 1 1/2" mark the full length of the ruler so I can just sort of drop it into place to make my cuts. It goes much quicker and easier that way!

I saw the one that barnbum did on TQB and fell in love with it! Hers was done pretty much in bright pastels and the effect was stunning. If you search for floral log cabin on this board you'll come up with her posts. Her work is exceptional, and by no means have I mastered her patience in matching the florals, but I'm happy with how mine is turning out and will do some more of these, for sure!

I also watched the Eleanor Burns video here: http://quiltinaday.com/theater/25th/2501.html and got lots of good tips on making log cabin blocks. She's quite the character!
