    I think it would give it extra stability, and it wouldn't hurt that you have already bound it.

    I have done that before -- your quilt is stabilized so it should be OK.

    ok i stitched in the ditch and it looks good thanks ladies! Now is it ok to wash this or should i not because of the applique? my quilt teacher said not to but then it won't be fluffy right?

    should be fine. if you don't want to do Stitch in the ditch, just do curves in the white. just use your walking foot and move the quilt to the left and then the right as you go along. I do that a lot.
