I hadn't thought of it either, but it's adorable. I may make a baby one to get in the practice. Thanks for sharing a good idea and a cute quilt.

Thank you. Basically is used pinks some also had blue I. Them so I added the baby blue checked and the little stars. I made just one strip around narrower. You begin with a square and then use the court house step method to achieve the size you want and then cut into 4ths. Mix up and sew back together. I am sure you can find the instructions on this board by searching Bento Box (mis-spelled in original post - sorry) Some one posted a completed large quilt I 2013

Ps. Today I finished the quilting and tomorrow the binding. This was so fun...I may make four more to have on hand.

happy New Year

That is just the sweetest looking quilt for a baby. Thanks for explaining how you did it.....i would have made each square separately and that sure would be a lot more work. It will be sure to be much appreciated.

Well! This does make a pretty quilt! Most Bento box designs I've seen were done with batiks; and I never thought about fabric combinations and varying the widths as you've done. Good for you! And thank you for opening my eyes! This would be a great way to utilize some prints I was given.
